Mimic SmartLock lock screen interaction when not connected to trusted device?

Is it possible to mimic SmartLock trusted device interaction(ie.you see swipe lock screen with notifications) in normal usage? I want a swipe lock screen to avoid going to home screen when power button pressed but for the pattern lock screen to enable after 10 minutes. It does this perfectly when connected to trusted device, just want same setup in normal usage.
