Mini/Micro USB Adapters I bought make EVO act weird!

Ok, so I purchased some generic Mini USB-to-Micro USB adapters off eBay for super-cheap (99 cents each, shipped!), and they arrived yesterday.

Put one on the end of one of my old Mini USB charging cables, and when the device turned on, look at the screen that appeared!

The charging light comes on, and it appears to be charging, but unfortunately the pin configuration is just different enough to make the EVO think it's in car dock mode or something!

The bad thing is, this particular screen seems to dominate, as I could not get back to the Home Screen...

Oh DUH, I just found that you can exit that by going to Menu > Exit!

Hey, it was early in the morning! I wasn't fully awake yet!

Also, just showed that to a friend who has the Incredible, and when he saw the screen, he said, "Oh, that's Car Panel. I have that right here in my apps".

Interesting that Car Panel is not listed in our apps... but I sure know how to get it to come up!

this is why i only buy OEM chargers. no funny business.

just got my 2 Sprint OEM travel wall chargers. great build quality, folding prongs, and a nice long cord. not cheap but worth it IMO.
