Mini-Review: Samsung Galaxy Desktop Dock

I received my $24 Samsung Galaxy Desktop Dock and i am quite pleased. It basically extends the function of the USB cable to a docking situation. It charges via the A/C adapter and allows you to sync with your PC if you plug the USB cable into your computer. It has an audio jack if you want to plug speakers into it. It does NOT have HDMI functionality - the more expensive one does.

It doesn't come with any cables - just the dock.

It's a well built product and I'm completely satisfied. All I wanted was something I could "drop" my Tab into to charge it.

Obviously (I think), it doesn't work with a case. I don't know any dock that does.I think you need a special case/adapter combo if one exists.

Only $24 on Amazon. Just search "Samsung Galaxy Desktop Dock (EDD-D1B1BEGXAR)." It's more expensive at Samsung.

DON'T MIND THE LOW AMAZON RATING - A bunch of people brought the rating down complaining there was no cable and A/C adapter included. For $24, a cable is clearly not included and it doesn't say so in the description.

I'm pretty sure the dock is why I ended up with two bricked Tabs. In my testing, docking the devices frequently locked up, powered off, or rebooted the machines whereas charging the units with the regular wall charger has yet to induce any of these issues. Personally, I'd stay away.

Weird....
I have had this same dock since day 1 with my LTE Tab and I haven't experienced this..

If you search on youtube there are a few video reviews on how the 7" dock that has the HDMI in it can have the cradle part swapped out for the 10" cradle. im planning to try this out, looks good.
