I've done some research on this, and it seems to be a common problem. The one where when a song is classified under a certain "album", whatever the top song is, the rest of the songs in that album are forced to have the same artwork.
The problem is that i've just recently gotten back into tagging my music and being sorta OCD about it. I've been using Mp3tag on my PC to put the appropriate album artwork, album name etc on my songs before putting them on my phone. The problem is, you know how within an album there are songs (singles) that sometimes have their own artwork? and I gave them their own unique artwork, but they are all forced to have the same cover by the time I get to Samsung Music
I even downloaded Automatic Tag Editor from the play store, and to test, went to just one song from an album, chose a custom picture from my gallery to apply to that song, then when I check back to the music app, it forced the whole album (18 songs) to have that custom picture instead of just the one I selected. The only way it lets me change the art on one particular song within in album, is if I changed the album name that song is filed under.
Summary: Edited albums on PC so that hit singles have their own artwork. When viewing it on PC/iTunes, it shows that separate artwork for the particular song. When adding it to my Galaxy S9 plus and using samsung music, it forces every song in an album to use the same artwork. When downloading automatic tag editor to potentially fix this, and giving one particular song it's own cover, it forces it to the rest of the album as well. Only "fix" is to give that one song a different album name, but then it isn't grouped with the rest of the album.
