mirrorlink issue with pioneer nex8100

I cannot get mirror link to work, the phone says its connected, the screen on the head unit stays blank, does anyone have a note 5 and is successful with mirror link on a pioneer unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm also facing same issue, I have pioneer network soundbar that supports screen mirroring but my galaxy A7 not working and displaying black screen. I think this is the problem with Lollipop version, it needs a fix.

Pardon this total noob question, but what are the advantages to using MirrorLink over Android Auto? I've never used MirrorLink, but I've been using Android Auto with my Note 5 for the last few days and I love it. I want to see if I'm missing out on something by not using MirrorLink though. Sorry for the off topic question.
