I found an app called "LED Me Know" and it has been working very well. It is fully customizable ( colors, sizes location, etc) and uses the screen for the LED. I use the LED regularly and this has been a great alternative.

I use Always on Edge aka AOE. Awesome for me. numerous options. kinda hard setting it up the first time but there are youtube vids on how to do it.

I always found these LED apps to be quirky.

The best I've come across is Light Flow Legacy which is good for devices that do have a LED light but badly implemented (not enough color switching, too much delay between blinks, etc)

I use AOD Notify you can make it flash around your camera or around the edge of the screen and change the colors. Someone on here posted it and I love it.

But doesn't it flash like once and that's it?

Not the same as a proper LED like on the BlackBerry's that stays for at least 30 minutes after the notification arrives

I believe it stays on till you swipe away the notification. I've never left it on long to see. Sorry!

AOE I posted above stays on for the custom time you want. Mine circles the front camera cutout for 5 secs and repeats every 30 seconds. Until you turn on the screen.

I just looked at my settings and saw an option that said stays on till you clear notification which is what I do or stay on till screen is unlocked or turned on. I love this app! I just realized about a week or so ago I wasn't getting notifications and I went to the app and I had to click ok there was an update and all is good now. I just never remember what color is for what LOL!

Thank you for that tip! Coming from a Google Pixel 2 and having used that LED off and on, I thought maybe I'd make some kind of use out of an app like that.

But so far, I'm okay without it. But it's good to know that this is an option in case I need it! :)

It doesn't stay on....it's temporary

AOD Notify stays on for as long as 12 hours. There is a slide adjuster in the settings. I have tried several LED replacements after coming from S7E and AOD Notify is the easiest to set up and has been completely reliable, works with any installed app with notification access. The battery usage is nil. New feature added is one tap to display AOD (for a few seconds) for quick time check.
