Missed calls

Randomly when people call me, my phone does nothing. It doesn't wake up, it won't ring or vibrate, regardless of the setting. I can't answer the call because nothing shows on the screen. Sometimes the only way I know, if not told by the caller, is if they left a voicemail. Sometimes there is a missed call notification. The voicemail comes through as soon as it's left, with a notification. VZW was absolutely no help. Everything else on the phone works as it should and this is random. Any thoughts?

Can the same caller sometimes get through to you? If a given caller always goes to voicemail, go to Contacts, select that contact, tap Edit, then Menu, and make sure it's not set to "All Calls to Voicemail."

It's random the same caller can have a different outcome at any time. There is. No pattern with any caller that I can find.

How's your cell signal? Is it poor around the time this happens?

My cell signal is fine. It happens anywhere at anytime.

I'm not sure what's going on, but you can try a couple of general things:

1. Wipe the cache partition: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-10404

2. See if this occurs in Safe Mode (steps are at the bottom of that link).

Turn off advanced calling feature if enabled. The SIM could be bad, try swapping SIM card.

I had this problem, drove me crazy. Turned out to be google voice needed to be reset.

The next step I can think of would be to reinstall the firmware using Samsung Smart Switch. I think this wipes the phone, so backup or sync your data first.
