I have an HTC Evo. Occasionally, people will tell me they've sent me a text message which I haven't received. I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

BTW, I also get a curious dialogue box from time to time that says "Sorry! The application HTC DM (process com.htc.android.omadm.service) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and I must force close it. I don't know why it appears or what it means, but am wondering if it's connected to the text message problem.

Any advice would be appreciated!

i have the same issue with my phone--
but mainly with picture messages. it's all over this forum, search and you'll see a ton of posts about it.

so, this is strictly a text message issue, not necessarily a picture message issue?
are you stock Froyo?
are you using the stock messaging App or something like Handcent/ChompSMS?

first thing anyone will tell you is to update your PRL--and if you call into Sprint, they'll update your profile over the phone (about a 10 minute process once you get a hold of someone)

is it mainly from a particular network? alot of people are noticing issues with Messages being sent from AT&T or iPhone users that won't get delivered.

"Sorry! The application HTC DM (process com.htc.android.omadm.service)"= .OMA stands for OpenMobileAlliance, DM could mean Device Manager--- a Sprint tool. basically it's Sprints messaging service application that runs to control messages sent/received and any transmissions therein. do you have an Task Killer Running? if so, have you set it to Auto-Kill this process? if so, uncheck & allow this process to run--and then delete your Task killer. TK's are useless & hurtful to the already advanced OS that balances operations & kills any useless ones automatically.

i have to check Sprint's picture messaging website about once a fortnight just to make sure i'm not missing something very important.

I posted about the exact same issue a couple of weeks ago. I was using Chomp and have since switched to Handcent. No issues that I have noticed since changing.

I miss Chomp, but Handcent does the job.
