missing contacts

sometimes on my samsung galaxy s4. my contacts go missing. when they go missing all there data goes to, even the text messages between me and them. could someone please give a solution to this problem, that would be great.

Do you know if these contacts were saved to your Google account, Samsung account, local Phone account, or some other account?
