Missing emojis on lg g5?

I upgraded from a galaxy s6 to the g5 and my s6 had all the updated emojis(middle finger, etc.) but on my g5 when i bring up the keyboard i dont see those emojis to choose from. I cant even make the skin tone of them different. Is this just how the g5 keyboard is? I tried to go to the update part on my phone but it says everything is up to date.

Touchpal is the default keyboard. Maybe u can try downloading another keyboard app

Having the same problem with my new LG V20. Everything is updated and I can receive them from friends, but I am missing the newer sets of emojis (upside down face, eye roll, middle finger, etc.) on my keyboards. I use the swype keyboard, but switching to Google or LG keyboards has the same emoji list.

I'm a pretty tech savvy guy, but I can't find a solution though Google. I just called Sprint and they told me to check my updates :/. I don't know where to turn and I know it's a silly thing but it's getting frustrating.

on the google keyboard, you press the icon you want and it pops up alternative skin tones. The finger is on the smiley tab you just have to swipe over to find it. It's on the same page as the families.
