Missing microphone for voice input on Samsung Galaxy S7 after Nougat install.

AC Question

Many answers to this question refer to long-pressing the smiley-face icon key to the left of the space bar which reveals several options, one of which is the microphone. That worked for me previously. But after installing Nougat, the key is no longer a smiley-face but rather a system icon and while long-pressing it does show options, the microphone is not among them. The options are Clipboard, Smiley Faces, Keyboard Reducing, and Samsung Keyboard Settings. I'm still without voice input! I've been to Settings: Language and Input: Google Voice Typing which is shown as "automatic;" no option to turn on or off.
