MIUI rom 1.9.30 help

can anyone help me flash this rom to my phone. ive always heard about using roms and heard that miui is really good so i want to give it a try, but idk what to do. can anyone help me out with this

It isn't hard, first question is are you rooted? This is key of course, because without you cant flash.

it says this is for the evo 3d, will it still work for the evo 4g?

Alright next we have to install a custom recovery so you can flash ROMs. Go to this thread and follow the install instructions to a T. After which we'll then make a system backup or "nandroid", then proceed with the flash.

ok i just did the PC36IMG via the bootloader way. do i need to do any of the other ones?

Alright, next we have to make sure the recovery stuck. Remove the recovery zip from your SD card afterwards power down the phone. Boot onto Hboot by holding the power and volume down button at the same time. You'll know your in Hboot if you see 3 androids on skateboards at the bottom of the screen. Select recovery from the menu and boot into into it. After it boots into it if you them see a menu instead of a red triangle with an exclamation point then it worked. Next we need to make a nandroid of tour system. Let me know if the recovery stuck and we'll proceed from there.

hmm for some reason my phone only can boot into hboot only if i remove my battery. if i shut it down and try to boot into hboot it just powers on, but everything loads really fast. Anyways.. yes i did get to the menu that is called android system recovery. all the words are green and on the bottom of the screen it says [Build : RA-supersonic-v2.3]. is this where i am supposed to be?

It sounds like it stuck which is a good thing. Now while your still inside the OS go ahead and remove the zip file you used to flash the recovery. Also just to make the system backup easier...any apps you've moved to the SD card go ahead and move those back to the internal memory. Quick question, are you wanting to save your apps+app data for when you flash MIUI...such game progress.

didnt i already remove the zip file off my sd card? if i need to do it again, how do i do it while still in the OS? and no i dont really care about any of my apps, i can start them all over again

Sorry if I'm repeating myself...lol. My bad. Alright...real quick, go ahead and download the latest release of the ROM from here. MIUI ROM. Place it on the root of the SD card.

Now to make the nandroid. Since you don't care about your apps, go through and move each one back to internal memory and then clear data and uninstall them. Just to make sure all of the apps data is gone. Boot into recovery and go to the back/restore option in the main menu of recovery, Inside that menu select "Nandroid backup". To make the most streamed line backup select boot, system, data, recovery, wimax...after x'ing those 5 options select Perform Backup then confirm it. At this point let it do it's thing. After the back up is finshed return to the m,ain menu inside recovery and boot the system back up. After your booted backup go to your sd card explorer and confirm the the file "nandroid" was made on your sd card and contain your nandroid backup.
