So, with the nook color for only $200 today my only question is about the MLB at bat app. I already have it on my Droid incredible, and will be buying the MLB.TV subscription. Last year you could not view video on the android app until the playoffs. This year they have said video will be available to android. I want a tablet, was considering an ipad because of the mlb at bat app, bit its very hard to beat $200 for a fully capable tablet in the nook color. My real question is since its not an official device, will the MLB at bat app allow video streaming on the nook color?

I bit the bullet and bought one of ebay last night. Couldn't pass up the $200 price with the ebay coupon. I LOVE the size of the galaxy tab vs. the ipad, the weight is perfect, but it's stuck at 2.2, with no Honeycomb future and I'm not paying $500. Even if MLB.tv doesn't work (At least the app I already purchased on my Dinc will work on it) It should make a darn good tablet for me anyway, and the xda folks will keep cracking away till they get Honeycomb right for the rest of us.

Plus, my wife was looking for an ereader so if the htc Flyer is better I will get that and give the nook to her. For $200 I can't lose really, but let's hope the video will work from mlb. Their website shows some phones listed that will get it, although the Dinc was not listed. I know the Dinc will get it as the postseason tv was available for it. Since the Droid 1 and 2 are listed as phones that are supposed to get the video, and the nook has the same processor as the droid 2, I'm betting that we'll be able to get it.

My guess would be yes. Slingplayer works fine for streaming, so I know the Nook is capable of it. I am going ahead and gambling that MLB will be fine.

It should work for MLB at Bat, but it does not show up in the marketplace. I tried several different fingerprints in /system/build.prop but nothing seems to work. Hopefully somebody will find a way to get it to show up.

I am running Honeycomb so it may be a problem with that version. I will try it on another version (froyo or gingerbread) tonight. I recall seeing a note on the MLB page that a version for Honeycomb would be available "soon". I had assumed that version would be tweaked for honeycomb but the existing version would still run. Perhaps the existing version is limited to froyo/gingerbread.
