MMS conversion from SMS and how to stop it in S8+

I want to disable the MMS conversion from SMS once I reached the max of 160 characters in S8+. How do I do that? Tried to check messages settings but can't find solution. Before I could text long messages as SMS without it converting to MMS. Very frustrating.

I don't use the stock app, so I'll leave it to someone else to answer if it can do it. But if you're open to other apps for SMS/ MMS, Textra is a great app and it has this option.

Can I just ask why you want to do this? Doesn't that make the person on the other end confused when it starts splitting up SMS texts in the incorrect order?

I'm curious about this myself. What's the benefit of turning this option off?
