MMS issues with CloudyG3 ROM (stock broke, Textra works... huh?)

A coworker of mine came up to me and said he was finally fed up with the junk Verizon loaded on hos G3, so he asked if I could help him out and purge the demons. Having owned a G3 (with one still in possesion of my wife) I figured I'd load the latest CloudyG3 ROM on his phone. Out of all the custom stuff I came across, Cloudy gives the performance of AOSP based ROMs, but retains the added on LG features.

Anyhow...

He said he couldn't send MMS messages, only receive them. Investigation was tricky since, for some unknown reason, you can't get to the APN settings on that ROM easily (you can to launch it via a terminal emulator). I played around a bit and I found that Textra can send MMS messages just fine... yet stock, Google Messanger, Hangouts... they all fail. Even if I add in a Verizon APN and reboot.... yep.. only Textra works.

What gives? Anyone have any idea why that app figured things out and the others have not?

It's most likely a carrier thing. That's a T-Mobile ... The Verizon one seems to bury the APN settings. I got them back with a command in a terminal session... Still didn't get MMS working on anything other than Textra.

Oh. CloudyG3 isn't for cdma carriers, there's your problem.
