I'm still loving this phone. But I'm encountering a problem. It is most likely not related to the phone but to Android OS and, most likely, the sender.
My mom is ill and my step dad started a group message so he could send stuff out to everyone at once. Except his sister is included. I'm not sure her age but he's in his late 70s. She sends a lot of texts to the group message and probably one out of 10 have anything to do with mom. The problem is she uses an iPhone. And a lot of her messages show up as "downloading". I get tired of waiting and delete. Sometimes that reboots it and it comes through. However, as of last night, I am now getting them late at night, and a bunch at once. So here I'm thinking something is up with mom but it's just whatshername discussing everything but.
I use Handcent/NextSMS for messages. I've dug into the settings and found something about "use data for MMS" which was set to off. So I clicked the box. Where I live is awful data reception so this may not fix the problem.
I've used my Google Fu and read that it is an iOS issue based on how the iPhone is set. There's no way anyone could instruct her on how to do that (I'd rather poke my own eyeball out with the stylus) unless they do it themselves.
So the question is: is there anything I can do on my end to fix this? Switch to Message App until the crisis is over? Block her?
