MMS not working

I can send but not receive pictures/videos on my new 5x. It just says a message in the messages app "New MMS message, downloading..."

but never downloads. anyone have any suggestions?

A little more info would help

What carrier are you on?
What app are you using?
Did you sign up for new cellular service or just replace a current device with the 5x?

A lot of the messaging apps have a setting to prevent automatic downloads of MMS messaging because of the Stagefright scare....check your settings to see if this might be the case.

I can confirm this - Hangouts SMS was disabled by default. I switched to Google Messenger for SMS since Google actually recommends that over Hangouts. So, I cant confirm the default setting for Google Messenger. I guess Hangouts is not ready for primetime on phones yet.

T-Mobile
Google Messenger
Replace current device (I switch back and forth with an iPhone 6s Plus)

I can send them just fine but not receive them. It's odd. My settings are set up to allow MMS.

This happened to me i called t-mo and the had me change the apn settings. Call them it takes 10 min.
