Just got the One X. Where I work, the signal is so bad, that for my previous two phones (one was ATT also), things worked better if I disabled mobile data while at work. Battery would not get chewed up and spit out, and in the case of my Captivate, I would not have trouble re-connecting to the network once I had signal again. I would have to reboot the phone to get it to work if that happened.
For the One X., a similar problem seems to happen. I suspect it keeps trying to connect (even though I am on wifi), and eventually gives up trying to reconnect. The signal meter will still change based on signal, but the device will not actually connect. If I toggle airplane mode, it will connect successfully again.
This happens even if I disable the mobile network prior to work, and enable after. That has me confused
. In addition, as it might be related, the phone does not seem to switch between wifi and mobile network too reliably on its own (stock 1.85 rooted). If you leave wifi on all the time, it seems to not pick up the mobile network when wifi is not available. At least not reliably.
Any tips or tricks?
