Thanks fine chris, I got you covered ;)

Again, great job on this little tool/mod. it was long overdue.

Does anyone on Bonsai know if you can turn journaling on/off freely without causing stability issues? Thx

I've done it once or twice... Doesn't seem to affect anything..

Then again I will admit this is the first time I've ran a no journaling ROM and haven't had a single problem so enabling journaling hasn't been a " must have " thing at this point.

what is Journaling?

Journaling is the amount of times data is written to your devices memory/harddrive.

A simple explanation ...

Running journaling enabled, if you have a problem that causes a lockup or mass FC's resulting in you pulling your battery or doing a soft reset (Vol Up+Camera+Power) your device will recover normally without issues. Although the payoff is the device runs a bit slower ( I honestly haven't noticed a difference....) and they say it will put more wear and tear on the device due to the extra writes it makes to the device during operation. Most likely you will never see a device/system failure in the average 1-2+ year period that you own your device.

Running journaling off or no journaling, is what most devs run with and recommend. Its faster and doesn't write to the device as often. Downside if you have to do a battery pull or soft reset you will probably have data corruption caused from the improper shutdown and end up with more headaches like more FC's and possibly having to reflash the ROM.

Bottom line its your choice, pick your poison.. I've ran both ways .... There is a more technical explanation behind all this but to make it simple, what I said pretty much covers it.
