Hey everyone! Just wanted to get a thread going with all the current modems to try out with your epic! Everyone's phone handles each modem differently so test them out and find out which one works best for you! For those that dont know, a modem effects 3g and 4g speeds as well as the cell signal of your phone handling phone calls and text messages (the bars ).

I just have all four uploaded already so I figured I'd put this in a thread for everyone to be able to reference to!

DK28 Modem:

Flashable through odin just like any other modem! Works on EC05!
This will give you the EF02 modem. If you'd like to update it to the EF10 modem, just go to settings>about phone>system updates> Update firmware after flashing the EF02 modem.

There is no flashable modem for these yet!

Good job Have a question for you though the EE03 is the ginger modem right? Can i flash this just fine while using ACS 1.1.1?

The modem is 100% independent of the rom you're using. You can even ODIN the GB modem on top of an otherwise 100% stock (yes, including stock recovery) EC05 or DK28 rom.

great videos. checked them out, but just waiting this week to see if the Gingerbread update rolls out. if not, I'll be rooting my phone and toying w/modems, etc to see what I can come up with.

OK. I'm on ACS/SFR 1.1.1. My firmware is 2.2.1; BaseBand EE03; Kernel 2.6.32.9; Rooted; CWM 3.0.2.5
I think I'm on RFS because I'm running EE03.

Can I just install EF02.tar via Odin or do I have to go back to EC05?
What is the difference between EF02 and EF10?

Is there anyway I can tell whether I'm Odexed or Deoxed?

Also, can I use ROM ACS/SRF 1.2? I thought it said that it said it was for EXT4 only? I know that I will have to d/l CWM 3.1.0.1. Will 3.1.0.1 convert files to EXT4?

If you're on SFR 1.1.1, you are deodexed. You can install any of these modems on either 2.2 or 2.3.
Just update to CWM 3.1.0.1, it will not convert and flash 1.2

Long time troller first time poster. First thank you all for all your hard work. I see a lot about modems on here but have not come across a good thread that has a good list. I found one on xda so I figured I'd share. I take no credit for this.

The EG22 modem has worked the best for me. At my home, I used to get only 2 bars at max but now I get
4-5 bars now!
