Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this error notification? It's been almost 2 days, I have already restarted/ soft rebooted / hard rebooted and still it won't go away... The phone won't charge unless I turn it off then plug it In twice..... Any help would be appreciated...

A can of canned air. Blow into the port with the tube connected to the can, but move it very carefully - that little bar inside the port is kind of fragile.

If that doesn't fix it, the phone may have to be taken apart, and I'd leave that to an experienced repair shop.

Had this happen to me a few weeks ago after a day at the beach. It finally went away after about three days and haven't had any issues since. In the meantime I just used wireless charging to charge my phone.

That's exactly where we're having the problem, the beach! The error won't go away no matter what...

The phone could be detecting residues in the charging port triggering this error, like salts. Beach water is far from pure. You could put the charging port in DISTILLED WATER. That's as pure water as can be. It should dissolve the residues, and when that dries up, no residues should be left.

When you get the phone wet in the ocean or pool, rinse it off with fresh water. Then let it dry. To charge, use a wireless charger. Blow in the port a couple times to try and get the moisture out and then restart it until the warning goes away.

This happened to me with my S7 edge. I took a very fine blade (like a precision/xacto knife) and put it inside a folded paper towel and "wiped" the inside of the charging port from all sides. I then gave the port some time to dry out.

Turn on POWER SAVING, choose the MAX setting for extending battery life, once the cycle is complete plug in the charger and revert back to normal... Thank me later

I don't know what it does but it worked. I've been at my wits end with it. So happy to have a solution.

I've had the same situation with the "CHECK CHARGER/USB Port" notification all day on my galaxy s8 active...and I cant get it to go away. It came up for no reason! I've tried everything from blow drying, to cleaning out the port carefully, to having to restart my phone just to charge it today...and nothing works! Sooo frustrating.

I tried the method you said that works for you...but I after I have it in my extended battery life...I cant plug the phone in to switch it back to normal because the notification is still going on.

Just want my phone to work again...any insight st all would br helpful...thank you

I had the same problem when I was in camping. Dew appeared each morning and phone was detecting moisture.
First, I left it on the sun for an hour. Second, I turned it off and plug-in charger.
After charging it worked ok.
But be careful. You can burn it out, so this decision is your risk.

FixedRe: "Moisture has been detected / check charger USB port"

What I did to fix mine was
1. Turned phone off
2. Used a G.U.M. PROXABRUSH. (Tight)
They are like $3.59 a pack at walmart.
3. Dip the tip in rubbing alcohol and use it to clean the port.
4. Blow into the port until dry.
5. Leave the phone powered off and plug the charger back into the phone.
6. Once the phone is plugged in a lightening bolt will show on the middle of the screen. Double tap it and your phone will begin charging again!
You're welcome.

Don't know how or why this worked but it worked for me. Have had this message for over 3 days now with absolutly no moisture anywhere near my phone. turned on max power save plugged in charger still had message. Unplugged charger and turned back to normal power save mode and message was gone and phone now charges with no issues. Thanks so much. Hope this helps someone else like it did me!!!

Wawa I created account to be able to thank you for your post as it worked for me. After numerous Google searches and YouTube videos I finally was able to resolve this. Happy holidays!

Wawa last: My device had no exposure to moisture but got this error for five days. Using your suggestion cleared the moisture symbol, but now USB port doesn't charge at all. Any next step ideas?
