Moment and USB cable

So, is the included USB cable really just for charging? When I plug it into my XP desktop, it charges, and mounts a drive of sorts, but cannot access internal micro SD card, keeps saying to insert a drive, this normal? Can these phones be mounted as a true drive on a newer Windows OS?

I successfully mounted my moment on my Vista desktop at home & also on my XP workstation at work.

got it! There was a notification to allow the phone to be mounted, clicked Yes, now I can see drive on my PC.
