moment extended battery mod...

i noticed that the moment and instinct hd have the same battery #
i also noticed that there is a extended battery for the instinct hd.

has any tried to modify a battery cover to fit the moment with the instinct hd extended battery???
or am i gonna be the first to try it? i'm willing to buy the seidio extended battery for 80.00 and a replacement oem battery cover off ebay for 15.00 and try to cut and heat/melt a hump in the back replacement cover.

if the model # on the oem battery is the same, i dont see why the instinct hd extended battery would'nt work besides the back cover issue.

I've seen a lot of people asking about this battery, and if anyone knew of a place to get a cover for it. But I haven't heard anyone as trying to make on themselves. So if you do try it, I'm sure many people would be interested to see results in pictures and hear how it went.

If you have a spare back cover, maybe take it to TAP plastics (if you have one nearby), and see if they could make a new one with the hump in it for you (might cost a little $$, but might be worth it, if it turns out to work right).

i just bought this oem battery cover on ebay -- BRAND NEW ORIGINAL OEM SAMSUNG MOMENT BATTERY COVER - eBay (item 180463091921 end time Feb-28-10 15:12:50 PST)

i'm gonna cut it out like a u and leave the top piece attached a little below the camera hole and try to heat and flex it. then try to melt some sides around it, use my dremel to smooth the melted plastic. depending on how it looks i'll either paint it or i have some black liquid rubber that you dip tools and stuff in to give a rubber handle/coating. i may try to paint it on very lightly.

getting it custom made mold will cost way more than the phone is worth
unless i can get a deal on a 100 or so. i'm gonna start calling around and see about it. that might be a money maker!!!

my luck sedio or mugen will release one right after
