Monthly service vs. no service

When trying to make a call it says radio off or error. I can only make calls on Wi-Fi I even had to buy a 30-day pass from Xfinity when I'm already paying for the service and even then sometimes the Wi-Fi doesn't work even though I'm logged in

Did you get your device directly from your carrier, or did you get it somewhere else and bring it to the carrier?
