Which app? Are you talking about the stock messaging app?

If you're unable to receive MMS messages, are you certain your mobile data is on? If it is, then make sure your APN settings are correct for your carrier: https://www.androidcentral.com/what-apn-and-how-do-i-change-it

Since I'm guessing you're not talking about a 3rd party messaging app, I'm moving this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum.
