So I have been an avid smartphone enthusiast and switched to android this year so I could finally have top notch hardware. My phone of choice was the epic 4g touch which, in my opinion is one of the best phones I've seen, mostly due to it's screen quality, camera and fairly high speced other options. However, next time around, I would really like a phone to last a whole day, regardless of what I do with it. This never seemed like a reality until the razr maxx came out. As far as screen quality and specs it may not be the best. but it's one of the thinnest, longest lasting phone out.
So here is a good question.... Why haven't more phones with this technology been released?.... I have watched several new phones be announced and none have the amazing 3300 mah battery from the maxx This, to me is frustsrating because it means that manufacturers are not putting battery life as a priority despite it being something many people who avidly use smartphones want. It has been proven that a day lasting battery is possible with all the (at the time high end specs) as well as a thin profile (still thinner then my galaxy s2 epic.)
This year we have introduced thinner more powerfull processors as well as better imaging for cameras, but to run these more powerful technologies, the batteries are not really cranking up the juice much.
For me, a perfect phone would have a 4.5 - 4.8 inch samoled plus screen, a modern processor and gpu at the time of purchase, highest amount of ram offered at the time, 16 gb internal space with expandable mico sd, 8+ mpx camera with back lite sensor and all other modern tech) nfc, all normal radios, and it's thickness is as thin as it can be with that technology in it. (sorry, I am not a believer that a phones ability to be the "thinnest" is more important than battery life and if the razr maxx can do it, I am positive others can produce something similar...). I also would like to see more of the high end phones look as little like the iphone as possible. Every smartphone I have had looked similar to it in someway, whether it be shaped the same, or have an overall similar look. I like the galaxy s3 designs and the htc one series look.
So is there a reason that new phones coming out are not including the 3300 mah battery or similar?? Will it take the iPhone getting a battery like this to actually see it in all smartphones?
