More Vibration!

Hi everyone. Just got the Shift and am loving it. I came from Att and the Iphone 3g. Mrs. Anonymark got the Optimus S and she loves it.

My question, the only thing I can't seem to tweak is the SMS vibration. I get one vibrate (zzt ztt) and thats it. I have missed a few messages from Mrs. Anonymark.

Is there any way to make it vibrate a few times?

I've tried a few free profile apps (Profiles and Quick profiles) and can't seem to get this.

Download Handcent SMS from the Market. When you are in the conversation list there will be a star in the upper right hand corner. Select that, go to notification settings, then look at the vibrate pattern for one you want.
Pull up your stock messaging app and hit menu, select settings, and uncheck the notifications box, so that you don't receive dual notifications from both apps.

idk if i'm blind or not but i downloaded it but i never saw the star in the upper right corner. am i doing something wrong?

If you haven't tried Handcent I suggest you do. Very customizable and solid.
Here's my latest custom screens.

The only downfall for me is the limitation in the amount of words you can type in each meassage.

Luckily for me my texts are usually short. If you send longer messages though I could totally see where that would be an issue for you.

Those are the only skins that I know of, but you can customize the snot out of backgrounds, conversation bubbles, fonts, etc...

yeah i finally figured out how to change it. i really like this app. but i read some ppl like go sms better. anybody try that app?

This sounds great. Can you tell me, do you uncheck ALL the notification boxes? I had quite a few checked. Thanx
