Moto 3 generation internal storage issue locking camera and clearing gallery

[Android Central Question]

How do I gain access to photos in gallery and restore the camera. In short the camera won't allow photos to be taken saying internal storage full delete to gain space but when going to gallery there is a small 📷 in the centre of the screen on pressing there are no filles visilbe. Have tried rebooting, Google plus able, disable, cache clearing. Have resorted to dr fone there are files there but no access or visual stuff. Help

Welcome to Android Central! The Gallery is not a location -- it relies on a database of images on your phone that is built by the system by scanning all directories for image files. If you want to delete photo files, use a file manager app to go to the /DCIM/Camera directory, then start deleting photo files there.

To get the Gallery app to display images again properly, try going to Settings>Apps​, select Gallery, then Storage, then Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now open Gallery again and wait a few seconds for the database to rebuild.
