Moto 360 review—Beautiful outside, ugly inside | Ars Technica

Argh! Why moto, why? If they would have put the snappy 400 into the 360 we'd have better battery life and better performance. Apparently now we are saddled with stuttery performance and bad battery life because Motorola probably got a hold of a bunch of omap3 that where on the way to the scrap heap and figured this was a good way to sell the 360 at a very competitive price.

I would have paid a 100 more if there was a good processor under the hood. The 360 looks like a hell of a deal especially when compared to the competition, all the bells and whistles, wireless charging, good looks, but a 1960s VW beetle engine under the hood.

For those of you that have yours already, do you experience the bad performance that article is talking about?

Damn bean counters, why moto, why?

Wow, that's really upsetting! But at the same I have to say I've noticed some choppiness in hands-on videos.

That's too bad...a better processor would have fixed the performance and battery issues. It seemed to help the G Watch.

I was all set to get the watch until i read this article. I think I might stick with my kickstart pebble until the second generation of Android wear devices come out.

Yup, I'm glad I didn't order. Considering this came out months after Google I/O and other competition, they should have done equal or better. Was all that time spent on the look?

Re: Reading the Ars Technica article makes me mad at Moto.

I'm hearing very different things from people about battery life. It seems like people who received less than 5 notifications and hour had no problems with battery life. I also haven't heard many complaints about stuttering and freezing even from sites who said they had terrible battery life. The watch is still a reference device and I think one possible reason they did it was to show how little power it takes to run android wear.

I will still get it, but it just makes me mad that they didn't put a competitive CPU in there. It reminds me of that whole Xbox One and PS4 thing, why didn't Microsoft put more power under the hood of the Xbox? I landed up getting it anyway and I am happy with it. Same thing happened with the galaxy s3, we got the crappy version with the earlier snapdragon and poor gpu compared to the Exynos version the rest of the world gets.

The LG G Watch is now on sale at Best Buy for $179. One has to really love the round to not only pay $70 more but also pay for it in performance and battery life.

To be fair, there are other features the 360 has that the G Watch doesn't. Whether they're worth another $70...

Can someone tell me how the processor performs on the 360? (lag, overall performance compared to G watch/Gear Live). I can take the not so great battery life, but I cant take a device that delivers a laggy experience. Thanks!
