I've tried what you said, and I have many times before but doesn't seem to fix the problem, I'm not sure why it's so severe when Bluetooth is onI've never used it on an iPhone, but mine definitely doesn't do that. I can go a full weekend with moderate use on an Android, can't see why it would be any different on an iPhone.
Here's what I've done when battery life seems to go wacky: reset the watch. It'll wipe out data but since it's a watch, no biggie. I have noticed that sometimes after a software update battery life goes wonky, but that fixes things. I've also noticed that the watch will drain FAST if it's not in airplane mode and it can't find a valid bluetooth connection, so don't keep it too far from your phone or don't turn BT off on your phone unless you put the watch in airplane mode. Even if this was the case, however, I haven't seen a drain so dramatic in an hour, more like going from 100 to 80 percent in those cases.
Sounds like you might have a defective unit. Is it new? Is it still covered by warranty? My battery life has only gotten better with every OS update, but sometimes I do have to format it after the update itself to get that great battery life.
I would wait at least 2 weeks before returning. I remember my 360's battery greatly improved after a few weeks
