I am seeing this news everywhere including the Google Now feed on my phone. I have not got it yet.
Have you all got the Play Store update on your G5 Plus?
Is it better than the previous version ?
Thanks in advance!

I heard that it was rolling out for the Z series and the Moto X4. Is Moto updating the G5 series camera also? Maybe it's hitting the Play Store in waves?

Some users in India and other regions have received the update on their G5 Plus. They have posted screenshots on the Motorola users India G+ forum. Also found some users saying the same and posting screenshots on XDA G5 Plus forums.
Edit : Those Motorola phones with dual back cameras are getting Moto camera 2 and the single back camera ones are getting Moto camera.

Professional mode was there before. It seems that the layout has changed and there is a new icon.

Yes , I have read that G4 and G4 plus users are also getting the update.
My G5 Plus still hasn't got it though.
It seems to be rolling out rather slowly.

My G5 plus got the update but my wife's has not. Haven't had a chance to play with it much but it does seem like a better interface.

I got the update on my G5 Plus just now. I like the new icon but I wish they had not removed the single finger swipe to zoom in tap camera button to take a photo. The single finger swipe to zoom is there only if 'tap anywhere to take a photo' is chosen.
I like the rest of the new interface.

Hmmm, had an update arrive this AM. Seems to have changed the interface again. As others have said now no one finger zoom unless you have tap anywhere to take pic. Step backwards imho.

Yeah, got the update this morning as well... Not really impressed.

There are quite a few reviews on Play Store saying that they do not like the new update, especially the removal of single finger zoom with camera button capture.

I got the update a few days ago on my G5S+ (Camera 2) and I kind of like the new interface. I prefer the swipe left/right for video/options with a dedicated button for pictures and the new menu is nicer. I can understand people complaining about the tap anywhere/swipe to zoom issue, but it doesn't bother me, I always enable tap anywhere.

Well, since I was always comfortable with tap to focus and tap camera button for capture, I am having to get used to tap anywhere on the screen because I prefer single finger swipe to zoom. This was how I used Camera360 Sight app on my Lumia during my Windows phone days.
Still, I hope Motorola brings it back with the next update to the app . I don't mind the interface change and I like the new icon too.

It seems that after taking a photo, I cannot swipe left to see the photo on the right as I could before the camera app update.
I can see the photo by tapping on the right bottom corner of the camera interface.
