Moto display question

So I noticed that moto display on my phone when sitting on my desk will periodically blink when there are not even any notifications.. Is this normal? I thought it was only supposed to blink when there is a notification

It could happen when you kick the table and your phone thinks that you're picking it up. Sometimes the Moto Display can be a bit oversensitive.

Its probally the slight movement of the desk , like then you nudge the phone to see what time it is .

There's nothing wrong. The screen displays the time in intervals, also referred to "breathes". Both previous generation X's have done this from the beginning.

EDIT: Just reread your post, what I said is after you get a notification.

There are some notifications that don't show when the screen breathes, but you would see them when you unlocked your screen.
