Moto e 1st gen, low call volume

Everything is fine except call volume at highest level on either earpiece or speaker isn't enough in noisy situations, stores, cars, outside, etc......The volume is plenty high for ringtones, alarms, videos, etc.. and earphones...Saw a way to increase with engineer mode, but # doesn't work , and don't trust those volume apps.....Using kit kat 4.4.4......cache clear no difference...also audio effects are off too as well as voice privacy and hearing aids...Anybody got any ideas????

Unfortunately this sounds like a hardware issue related to the incoming call and quality of the connection being received. I would suggest using a Bluetooth earpiece or set of headphones if you are going to be in noisy environments and need to make or receive phone calls. As you said, there are volume apps available in the Play Store which are said to enhance the volume levels...however, I don't think those will work in this case.

if it was a hardware issue, wouldn't it affect all volumes, videos, ringtones , alarms etc.. they use the same speaker and output amp....sounds like software to me....or a low engineer mode setting...
