As a parent of 5, I'm always looking for a good deal. Parents who have children old enough to have smartphones know how I feel about having to spend $200+ on a new phone these days especially when they are prone to drops, sitting on them and in the end cracking the screens.

Seeing how this phone is supposed to be coming into the market at $129 (US) that is an awesome alternative for those on a budget or just hate spending that $200+ on a phone for their children. Lets not forget that 4.3 display is the perfect footprint for teenagers and folks with smaller hands. Only real bummer is the lack of LTE but seriously in the case of our teenagers do they really need to be streaming vids and stuff gobbling up our mobile data? No I don't think so and for customers on T-Mo or AT&T, HSPA+ is plenty fast for most so this still makes for a great phone.

The first thing I thought when I read the release details this morning is that this device is good for families who are looking to get smartphones for their kids. It's a great way to get into the market without having to plunk down a bunch of cash for an iPhone or high end Android device. I see this device doing really well on month-to-month networks/plans.

Good luck. Two of my sons are 13 and almost 12. They want the latest and greatest. They have an HTC 1 and an iPhone 5. My 6yo wants a phone now. Yeah they're spoiled. Teens wanna take selfies and stuff. Stream YouTube and store music. I think the Moto G would be a better option.

Got to set those boundaries. First you give in with the latest and greatest smartphone at ages 12/13, whats next them asking for a brand new Mustang GT for their 16th B-Day? LOL..

They'd better earn it.
