Moto G 1st gen is plugged in but losing charge.

My 3g moto g gen 1 is losing charge when it says its plugged in.
Running 5.1 lollipop no custom ROM.

What charger are you using?

I just bought this charger like 2 hours ago. Its just a Samsung travel adapter.

Two probable problem ideas, the charging port on the phone could be misaligned, particular the small metal tab in the middle. It also could be that the charger is reading as a USB source and is trickling 500 mAh instead of the 1000-2000 the stock charger likely outputs.
