Moto G 2015 XT1540 International Use

All I've seen are the two models XT1540 and XT1548. Haven't heard of any "international" models. Has anyone taken their Moto G (XT1540) on travels thru Europe? Any issues? I just bought the GSM XT1540 and travel overseas occasionally . . . was wondering what (if any) limitations there may be?

What networks do you plan on using while traveling?

Generally the "international" model refers to most of the world with the exception of North (and perhaps South) America. However the only countries my Moto G has been in (this being the one I am getting replaced) are England and Wales.

Upcoming plans to travel to Italy (and possible France) this coming summer. Not sure what networks but when I've traveled with my Blackberry - I never had a issue.

Hello. I just came back from Europe, visiting Germany and Hungary and had no problems using my XT1540 there. I also used my original Moto G which has the same GSM bands earlier in Austria and Panama.This phone should work wherever there's GSM coverage. I have the Simple Choice plan with T-mobile so i have voice at 20 cents per minute /texting is free and data included but it is slowed down to 2g levels.
Of course one can always buy a local SIM card and use the phone that way.

I believe that the only issue is that you won't get LTE speeds everywhere or all the countries but 3g most of the time which is good enough for most people.
