Moto G Battery Charging Problem Unable to Fully Charge

I noticed that whenever I charge my Moto G while it's on and with the battery level below 30%, it only charges to a maximum of 99% regardless of how long it is left to charge, even overnight, and the battery status still remains as charging. Only by unplugging the charger and plugging it in again does the phone charge to 100% and show the status as Charged.

This issue does not happen if the battery level is above 30% or the phone is off while being charged.

Wonder if anyone else experiences this problem, is it a battery issue or software issue? I've calibrated the battery a number of times already but this issue still persists.

I'm currently using a Moto G (XT1033) 8GB running on Android 4.4.2, system version: 171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03 and build number: KXB20.25-1.31.

Well, I would say try one thing when your battery power reaches 95% switch your device and wait for the charging to complete to 100% it's going to take sometime and I think this is going to make you device battery reach 100% mark.

Sure, I've tried that before by switching off the device and letting it continue to charge to 100%, that's one workaround.

However, I still don't quite understand why the phone can't charge to 100% completely when I begin charging it at battery level below 30% while it is on, but it can charge completely to 100% while on when I start charging it at battery level above 30%. Shouldn't it always charge completely to 100% no matter when I start charging the phone? Could there be some kind of glitch or battery problem?

Well, I can't say exactly but I am getting a feel that there might be some battery problem...... do one thing if your device is still covered under the warranty then I would say why don't you go to the customer support and seek replacement for it I am sure they are going to replace the battery if some glitches are in it. :O
