not just youtube , but video from website too

Welcome to Android Central! Is this occurring on both mobile data and wi-fi? If only on wi-fi, have you tried other wi-fi networks?

both on data and on wifi

it happen in my htc desire last year too , but not as serious as the Motorola did

if you search on Google : android YouTube "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry"
you can see a lot of people have the same problem

Is your YouTube app up to date? The current version should be 10.08.53.

Also, make sure your Google Play Services is up to date. Current version is 7.2.40.
