Moto G PC connection issue!

Ok trying in vein to get my prepaid G to connect to my pc so I can transfer music files to it...
Can someone please clue me in on how to do this,My old phone would just connect right away...I hook up moto g to my pc and NOTHING...Very annoying all I want to do is transfer music and picture files to my phone...
Any help would b much apppricated! thank you.

You might need to install the Motorola USB drivers.
