Moto G Voice Quality

I recently purchased a 2014 Moto G from an ATT corporate store. The device had very poor voice quality with a muffled, hollowed out sound. I tried calling several people in a variety of locations and in some cases the quality was okay but in others it was unacceptable.

I was wondering if voice quality issues are typical with this phone or if I just got a bad unit.

I've had no complaints with mine. I did find that ear placement is more critical with the 2014.

I get excellent call quality on mine, no complaints at all.

I am no audiophile type of a person but calls came in clearer than my note 3 could do and I that is mostly due to better antennas inside the moto g! Note 3 has the worst antenna grade possible!!! Annoys me how a phone under 200 has better antennas than the 600 one
