Moto G3 root

I am unlocking my G3 bootloader. Drivers and adb all installed and working.
Got as far as obtaining the unlock code from Motorola. The original command prompt window used for entering the string requesting the code closed. I have the unlock code Moto sent me but I can't find a prompt window that will remain open for me to enter it. The fastboot.exe flashes on the screen but won't remain open.

This is what I am looking to enter...

Open the command window again and enter command mentioned below which will finally unlock the bootloader of Moto G3.

fast boot OEM unlocks (insert code here)

Any help appreciated.

You need to open a command window, these commands are done in a terminal, not by clicking on a file... In the windows menu type 'cmd' and press return, then use the cd command to change to your fastboot directory, then type the fastboot command.
