Android Central Question

My wife's G6 just went through the update to Android 9 and she complained that notifications are now very quiet, so quiet that if it's in the pocket, you can't hear it.
Anyway, I took a look and it seems she's right. The ringer volume has been adjusted - in fact I don't think she did anything - to what it was pre-update.

Where is the notification volume setting. I have tried adjusting the volume rocker / buttons but that doesn't seem work for notifications.

This is the same for Messages (SMS) and Hangouts. Not sure about notifications from other apps.

I've tried to search but cannot find a definitive answer, so if there's anyone out there who can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.

Welcome to the forums. You can change the different volume levels in settings - sound or if you tap the volume key and then tap the cog icon.Screenshot_20190315-125041.jpeg

Alas, I had already looked at those settings. Setting to max still does not bring the notification volume up.
There appears to be a fundamental issue with this. I may contact Motorola regarding this.

Thanks for the response though.

Just an update..

I asked the missus to humour me and power-cycle the phone. Hey presto! It worked. No changes to the volume levels. That's all it needed.

Haha. Magic! :) Glad all is back to normal and thanks for the follow up. It'll be very helpful for other users with a similar issue. See you around the forums.
