I bought a Moto G6 in August 2018 and it's been a marvelous phone but for past 2 weeks I have found that the USB Type C socket only charges the phone or transfers data when the USB type C cable is inserted one way round. It must be the socket as opposed to the cable that's gone faulty, as this problem manifests itself with different cables.

Has anyone else encountered such a problem and if so do you know of a simple fix - or do I just have to return the phone to Amazon for warranty repair/replacement?

Thanks

If it happens with different cab;es, and the plug is inserted all the way, the phone has to be repaired. It can be returned to Motorola (Amazon doesn't do repairs), or it can be done at a local authorized repair shop, depending on where you are. (And, depending on the warranty you got with it, you may be able to get it replaced by the seller - check the warranty and if it's a year or more, contact the vendor (or Amazon if you don't have vendor information).
