Moto Migrate Hates Me?

I'm trying to Migrate from my Samsung to my Moto using Migrate and it always "loses connection" during the preparation phase. I don't use Cloud services at all for personal reasons, including resentment, so I'd appreciate possible troubleshooting to get Migrate to work?

Make sure the 2 phones are next to each other after the NFC connection till done.

I wished I didn't use it- my primary gmail account is my secondary, and because it synced photos, after I put my SD card in I had doubles in gallery app.
