plus you can now use a moto 360 to take a picture for moto x![]()
Yo Green Laser, I appreciate your posts. Are you seriously still rockin' an HTC Tbolt as daily phone??
I don't know, it could be the placebo effect. The update was pushed to the 2013 X as well.I had the update applied before I knew it so I can't do immediate before/after comparisons. But I did a couple of little quick tests and the focus and post-processing definitely seem improved to me. I had a feeling this was possible and would be a priority for Moto.

Looks like it's just about the Moto 360 integration. With the 2013 x the photo improvement came with a new version of Android. It might not be something they can update with the app alone.I, too, am very curious about this update. Can anyone elaborate further?
Actually these post processing technology are very expensive to develop. Big companies invest huge amount of money in it. It's not something easy that Motorola can just do from a simple update, they can improve minor things. The most cost effective way for them is to lease the technology from another company.Well critics have said that the sony camera sensor is the same as Samsung and others that produce great photo's .So Motorola must have decided that taking the time for camera software development wasn't a priority in getting the phone out. Now that the phone has launched and the critics are giving the camera a mediocre rating, they are working on improvements.
Lol, you guys are awesome! So basically you were incensed with Sense so you unSensed it?![]()
Me and my lady are still on Razr M's and since I don't have the brains or energy for rooting we are suffering through the botched Verizon KK ota update that has totally crippled these previously awesome little phones![]()
My wife has a charger planted at literally every location she goes just to make it through the day... I've had 4 CLNR replacements and done more FDRs than I care to count, but I can't do it anymore so I ordered the new Moto X.
However, it's taking almost a month for them to make the custom X so I have since changed my mind and I'm gonna go with the @DroidTurbo bc I'm tired of charging my phones midday.

Not sure how all this works but my kids had field day today and I knew I wanted a good camera and swapped my SIM to my iPhone 6+. The pictures and video are just top notch. I am still puzzled at how apple does it with a 8 MP camera but clearly they have figured our the post processing technology. Just wish more android OEM's would. iPhone proves you do not need large mega pixels to get nice photos.

Because megapixels are literally the least important spec when it comes to camera quality (at least once you reach that 8 MP number). You don't need more detail than 8 MP unless you're cropping into something tiny which most people don't care about. The size/type of the sensor, the image stabilization technology, and the processing software are all way more important than megapixel count.
