As of 1400 today (08 Oct 2014) both the 16GB and 32GB Motomaker models are listed as out of stock on the Verizon store computers. The 16GB models sold in the stores - at least on the initial screens - show as available to order. I know this is correct as of that time because the second service rep had me come behind the counter and look at the PC screen. No possible available date was listed. Should the be considered good news - demand is some great than they can not supply enough? FYI - Not that it makes a difference but I was ordering on EDGE plan. We did not get that far - out of stock stopped us.
As a side note, it was an interesting visit. The first service rep assigned to me had no idea what the Moto X and/or Motomaker was. When I explained I wanted order using MotoMaker to get a 32GB model. He gave me surprising news that I didn't need to do that, I could get one of the 16GB in the store and put an SD card in the phone. I guess it goes in that super secret SD card slot - if you find it you can make a fortunate selling the secret to those folks want more memory. He was also clueless about the design choices - even with a display of the color choices right under the store display phone.
Also there are issues with Verizon's computer network. The screens the service rep showed me are not available on my home PC. According to her I should be able to see exactly what she was showing me in the store. I can access none of the design your own orders screens from home. If I filter by Motorola, it displays four phones; at the store the same filter displayed those four plus a design your own model. I can get the five Motorola choices to display my Droid M and the MotoMaker shows out of stock. It seems kind of a mess.
