Moto X 2014 Wood or Leather?

I am not trying to start a platform war here, but would you all go for wood or leather backs?

I think the wood is far prettier. I love the texture of wood. Heck the whole room I am in right now is filled with wood furniture, flooring, walls, and desks. I also lose my leather wallet all the time so I am leaning towards wood.

But then I imagine the texture of leather in my hand and can't help but to think it would feel more comforting than wood, but it would age and rip and stain easily and I am a clutz. But leather also would maybe absorb a gentle drop a little better right?

What are your thoughts on the war of wood versus leather?

Re: Wood or Leather?

Leather.

Other than it being made of leather, I'm not sure what the relevance is of your losing a leather wallet.

Re: Wood or Leather?

Ah, well, if I got the leather back wallet and could not visually spot it, I could talk to my phone and get it to tell me where it is even if i could not see it very well.

To be honest I would have a hard time seeing the wood back one anyway in my room full of wood, so I might as well get the leather one to have the easier to grip texture.

Re: Wood or Leather?

I just purchased the leather back motorola pure 32gb memory version, went for navy blue leather, gold trim, white front, turquoise hula bumper, got the protection plan, violet power pack micro, screen protector etc..

Now I just have to wait till I can buy a moto hint, and then a navy blue moto 360 watch and I will be fully accessorized! :P

Re: Wood or Leather?

I decided on wood. its my first Moto phone and I'm excited to see how it turned out. Got th show ff thread and take a look at what people are doing. :)

Re: Wood or Leather?

I had wood on my moto x. It was nice but not real good grip to me. If I went moto x now,I would go for leather. My iPhone has great grip with the leather expensive as all, case by Apple. However,if your going to put a case in it,then get what is most appealing to you.

Wood.

Leather is all about the feel and I plan on putting a clear case on my phone so if I wanted a color I'd just get the plastic version and save $25.

Re: Wood or Leather?

I had wood one for gen 1, and went with leather one this time around. I like both. Wood back is definitely slippery. Must say the leather back got more grip and really nice to touch and hold. Wood got shinier over time and looked still great though I noticed there were some small bubbles in a few spots (often happens with thin layer of wood panels sitting on a different material) but didn't look too bad. We'll see how the leather back will age, but that worn look gotta be a part of what you like about the leather back. If you aren't into that or planning to put a cover, I guess the wood is the way to go.

Re: Wood or Leather?

I'm a htc girl but I've always preferred the wooden backs of the moto phones over metal or leather, it's so classy and beautiful

Re: Wood or Leather?

Go with the leather. If you don't like it then ask to return it. I didn't like my first Moto X so I asked to return it and they were more than willing to give me a new code to make another.

Of course, that won't work a year+ from now if/when the leather is fraying or coming loose.

It wouldn't be possible to exchange a Moto X with a wood back or one of the regular colored backs after one year of use, either, so I'm not sure what your point is.

If I was going to get the New Moto X I would get leather all the way. Does anybody know if the unlocked version will have LTE with T-mobile? Sucks they don't sell it with them
