Read the changelog. It wasn't really a major update.

I was promised Advanced Calling 3 times. When I bought it, they said November (2014). Then they said it's coming with lollipop. In April, Verizon told me in June. I really like this phone, except that it doesn't have a main feature that I wanted from day one.

Also, battery life still not great. However, it is WAAAYYY smoother.

Did the lockscreen show VZW in both places on 5.0?...if it did I didn't notice. Now that I do, that's typical VZW to do that. uploadfromtaptalk1435715485027.jpg

I'd like to know who "promised" you a feature. That doesn't sound accurate.

Re: Moto X (2nd gen): Lollipop 5.1 Verizon

For me , this update is much to do about nothing. I see a couple of things I like but they are by no means woo-hoo moments. All I really wanted was to have the ability to get rid of that silly (IMHO) quick launch pull down. Aside from the WIFI and Bluetooth I don't use any of the other ones in this quick launch pull down. So this update is a Meh for me.

I must say, so far it's been running better (smoother) on 5.1 than in 5.01, so that's good.

It was spoken about from the time of launch that the feature would arrive 'sometime this fall' (ie 2014). Someone like you probably wants it written in the blood of the Motorola ceo's first born son witnessed by 3 monks, an ex president, and 6 giraffes, but it was all but promised without using the words "we promise".

Well if it wasn't LITERALLY promised to you, you sounding say it was promised to you. Seriously, don't be condescending.

I think the condescending one in this conversation is you.

For me The only reason for move to L would be advanced calling, because where I live I have better LTE coverage than CDMA , not to mention how many times I really needed to use the web while on the phone, so it's getting annoying not have this basic function (on All GSM networks from the very beginning).

I just got off the phone and the rep told me (confirming twice while keeping me on hold to check) that it should be available with this last update - it should work already. What could I say, but thank you :)

Please don't blame Motorola. If anyone is to blame for leaving out advanced calling is Verizon.

I have no evidence, but I support this position. Motorola is much more transparent than Verizon IME, and VZW has screwed me over way too many times in the past (I had an HTC Thunderbolt, enough said) for me to trust their word over Motorola.

I can't believe they have not made Advanced Calling available for the 2nd Gen. Moto X. You would think it would be one of the first phones to have it considering the original Moto X has the ability to have voice and data. I complained about this on the Verizon Wireless facebook page. Maybe it would help speed things up if others did so as well.

Just realized that after this stupid update from KK to L (accidentally clicked on "yes" to install after being lazy to put the patch and not bother) my signal strength deteriorated by at least 6-7dB and it's also not as stable as it used to be. I know because I kept comparing it before with my old X and wife's Note 4 - was the best and now trails way behind. Given the lack of VoLTE and horrible battery life, No clue what to do with this phone, now. Verizon messed up the Radios yet again (had these problems w my old S3 after updates).
