Moto x led light

So I was activating a new customers Verizon moto x. It came out of the box totally dead and when I plugged it in to give it some juice there was a green led light on square in the middle of the ear piece. I haven't been able to find anything about this at all. Kinda assume its just an indicator to show the phone is actually doing something, but does anyone know if this is a Verizon only thing?

Search xda. It's on all moto X. Only comes on when battery is so dead that screen can't turn on.

The light only appears when the phone battery does not have enough power to display active notifications and when the battery is really low on power. Once the X gets enough juice the light should turn off.

Its there for low battery when charging, but you can do anything with it

I was under the impression that batteries are half charged... So the battery should be 50% charged right out of the box... That was the case for my phone...

Are you sure it is an unused phone?

They usually come half charged, but not always. HTC is kinda bad about that in my experience. We don't sell used phones anyways, so yea lol
