Moto X Play Charger Heats up?

My Moto X Play's charger gets hot while charging the phone. Yes, the charger and not the phone! I am talking about the 2-port charger provided along with the phone.
Does it happen with you too, or is it only my charger that is defective?

That's normal, the charger will generate heat while charging. Are you having any problems while charging your phone?

I was concerned because my charger was getting unusually hot while charging. Finally it stopped working! Got it replaced at the service centre. The new charger gets warm, but it is normal.
